MEET ERIC

LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR UNION

In August-2024, delegates to the AFGE National Convention will meet to decide who will lead this great Federation for the next three years.  I am running for the position of National Secretary-Treasurer, and I am respectfully asking for your support and your vote.

AFGE is an $80 million organization. The National SecretaryTreasurer must have the ability, experience, and the passion to effectively manage the federation’s finances. My record has proven that I have those skills, and I am not afraid to make the tough decisions that will continue to make AFGE financially sound.

Many of you have gotten to know me over the years:

  • I served as National Vice President of District 14 for seven years.

  • I served as Treasurer for Metropolitan Washington Central Labor                   Council (MWC) which represents AFL-CIO locals within the                             Metropolitan DC and Maryland area. I became Treasurer when the                 MWC was close to financial ruin, and I brought the Council back.

  • I was Chief and Co-Chief Negotiator for a $1 billion Compensation and         Benefits package for 8 DC international unions over several years.

  • I served in several positions within my local (AFGE Local 2725), and              then ultimately the president for more than 20 years.

  • I served as Council 211 President for all District government locals of             AFGE.

These experiences, along with the last four years of serving as your National Secretary-Treasurer, have allowed me to put together an agenda that I called, in 2020, ROAD TO RECOVERY.  I am changing the way AFGE does business as we move to the next chapter:

“ROAD TO STABILIZATION”

I have made it my mission to be transparent and accountable.  There is now more accountability and transparency than ever before.  We must continue to be transparent and accountable in our actions and in our attitude when it comes to safeguarding our union and its assets.

It’s with great honor and pleasure that I declare my candidacy for National Secretary-Treasurer.  It’s has been a great four years financially for AFGE under my leadership as National Secretary-Treasurer and we must continue the progress and improvements.
